Yulara
Yulara is the most amazing little town you have ever known. Yulara was founded in 1976, and it is a relatively new community, just 14 km from Uluru, established to support tourism around Uluru and protect the Australian ecosystem and the spiritual center of Australian roadways. Over 1,000 people live here today. It is also a home for thousands of species of animals, birds, plants, and insects. A quarter of a million people visit this lovely place yearly.
About Yulara
The resort offers various levels of accommodation: hotels, apartments, budget rooms, and campsites. A shopping centre, supermarket, bank, newsagent, and grocery stores exist.
There is also a petrol station, a Royal Flying Doctor Service clinic, a police station, and a fire station in Yulara. From Ayers Rock Airport, located just a few kilometers from the resort, there are daily Qantas flights to Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Cairns, and Alice Springs.

Things to see & do around Yulara
Camel Tours
If you want to immerse yourself in the desert landscape and see the rock from a new perspective, we recommend a camel ride to Uluru. They are especially popular at sunset when you can see the sun sinking from afar under the rock.
Cycling and Motorbiking
Cycling around Uluru is another exciting way to take in the views at a slightly faster pace. Uluru can quickly be cycled around in a couple of hours, and Outback Cycling offers bike hire packages, including bus transfers from the resort. Motorbike tours around Uluru are also available if you want to see the rock from behind the wheel of a Harley Davidson.
Helicopter Scenic Flights
Various providers offer helicopter flights to Uluru, with different packages to suit your needs. For example, you can take a quick flight to Ayers Rock to capture the perfect aerial photo or opt for a day-long helicopter tour to see the main attractions of the National Park and surrounding areas. Scenic flights to Uluru allow you to experience the majesty of the rock and its surroundings in a way that no photo can replace.
Walks & Trails
Uluru and Kata Tjuta offer several hiking trails that give you access to different landscape elements, including scenic viewpoints and hidden rock art. The walks in Kata Tjuta and Uluru are classified by difficulty level so you can understand what you can do before you arrive.
It is better to plan your walks beforehand. It will prevent you from getting burnt under the scratching sun during the hottest hours. Sunsets and sunrises are always more relaxing times of the day. You have the opportunity to take the most beautiful photos.
Art Galleries
In Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park, visitors can come across two art galleries, Maruku Arts and Walkatjara Art, which are located in the Uluru Cultural Centre. The art on display is local, and the Anangu people own the galleries.
In the town of Yulara, you will be able to visit the recently opened Central Australian Gallery, full of beautiful works of art. There is also an artist residency program where you have a chance to watch and communicate with artists while they work.
